Becker Vineyards
The name that put Fredericksburg wine on the map β and it's still setting the standard.
A Hill Country Institution
Some wineries are new and shiny. Some wineries are trendy and loud. Becker Vineyards is neither β and that's exactly why it belongs on every tour we lead. Richard and Bunny Becker built this estate from the ground up, and you can feel that family-driven dedication in every bottle, every row of vines, and every conversation with their team.
We've been partnering with Becker for 15 years, and in that time we've watched them grow from a beloved local winery to one of the most decorated estates in Texas β without ever losing the warmth that made them special in the first place.
The Wines
Becker's Viognier is a Hill Country classic β bright, floral, and perfectly balanced. If you've never tried a Texas Viognier before, this is the one that will make you a believer. Their Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are consistently solid, and the estate reserve wines are worth seeking out if they're available during your visit.
Viognier
The flagship. Bright, floral, a Hill Country icon. The wine that made Becker famous.
Cabernet Sauvignon
Consistent year after year. Medium body, approachable tannins, pairs beautifully with a Hill Country sunset.
Lavender Infused Wine
A unique offering that captures the estate's famous lavender fields in a glass.
The Lavender Fields
If you visit between late May and early July, Becker's lavender fields are in full bloom and the entire property smells like a dream. Even outside of lavender season, the fields frame the winery beautifully and make for the kind of photos that your friends will think you took in Provence. Except it's Texas, and everything is bigger β including the welcome.
Insider Tips from Stephanie
- βIf lavender season (late May through early July) lines up with your trip, Becker is an absolute must-stop. The combination of wine and lavender is unforgettable.
- βAsk about their estate reserve wines β they're not always on the standard tasting menu but the staff will pour them if you ask nicely.
- βThe patio overlooking the vineyard is the best spot for groups. We always aim to get a table out there for our guests.
